The Deputy Mayor of Culture & Science of the Municipality of Larissa is an administrative body headed by the deputy mayor appointed by the mayor with responsibility for the implementation of the cultural policy of the municipal authority. Deputy Mayor of Science and Culture, Municipality of Larissa has been a co-organizer of the festival since 2016, and the Municipality of Larissa is the main sponsor of the festival.
Among other things, it organizes all kinds of cultural events such as concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, lectures, etc.
It also arranges the proper function of the thematic museums operating in Municipal Facilities: Museum of Grains and Flour, Museum of Dolls, National Resistance Museum, and all sites related to National Resistance (Monument of Alkazar), Museum – Grave Monument of Hippocrates, Folklore History Museum. It is responsible for the operation of the Municipal Puppet Theatre “Tiritompa”, for the proper operating of the Mill of Pappas and all the facilities housed in the place, and for operating of the Culture of Foreground (ΟΥΗΛ).
Deputy Mayor of Culture & Science is Panos Sapkas, whose goal is to provide the citizens with happenings and events that promote education and spiritual and mental cultivation. Based on the principles of synergy, solidarity, and reciprocity, the Deputy Mayor of Culture & Science of the Municipality of Larissa provides opportunities for the creation by the local artistic potential, and treats the citizen as a protagonist and active participant in events.
